OUTREACH MINISTRIES
During
2007, Outreach Ministries continued to act on behalf of the whole Grace Family
to “Love our neighbors as ourselves.” Grace
Church assisted hundreds of our neighbors in our local community and beyond by
allowing God’s love to pass through us to others in their time of need.
As
stewards of the talent and treasure provided to Outreach, we were able to
provide financial assistance to:
Mid-City Nutrition Safe Horizons
Neighborhood Ecumenical Team (N.E.T.) Habitat
for Humanity
Bus with Gus Scholarships
Bridge Builders
Our
Grace Church family has developed a strong legacy of giving to our local
community. We continue to serve those
in need through the following projects:
- Easter Food Baskets -
provided food for 24 Woodrow Wilson families
- Parents’ Day -
arranged for children to give gifts to 20 parents and enjoy family
entertainment of bowling, movies, games and pizza
- Nail Sale – raised $668
to support Habitat for Humanity
- Dedicated the Habitat
for Humanity house in January for the Evans’ family
- Apple Project –
provided new back-to-school clothing for 26 Bridge Builder children
- Angel-to-Angel
Project – gifts of toys & clothing, as well as a food basket helped 25
families (86 children) celebrate Christmas
- Crop Walk – a hot,
but pleasant walk through the city raised $1,899 to help relieve world
hunger; 25% went to our local Midcity Nutrition Soup Kitchen.
- Soup Kitchen – 55
Grace volunteers manned the Soup Kitchen 24 Saturdays
- Salvation Army bell
ringing – provided bell ringers for 11 hours

“Then the King will say, ‘I’m
telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone
overlooked or ignored, that was me -- you did it to me.’”
